While other equipment companies appear to be moving away from square drivers, Callaway Golf is keeping square alive with its new FT-iQ driver. According to the company, the FT-iQ melds several cutting-edge components into the club head design, including a hyperbolic face design, high moment of inertia and precise center of gravity location. Callaway calls the FT-IQ "the most advanced driver in the world" and says it is 35 percent straighter than its FT-i driver.
FT-iQ, which begins shipping domestically with suggested retail price of $625, will be available in men's and women's versions in both standard and Tour models. The standard models feature 9-, 10-, 11- and 13-degree lofts. The 10- and 11-degree models will be available in left-handed versions.
The Tour version has a slightly more open face and is available in 8.5- and 9.5-degree lofts.
